Cliffs of Moher Coastal Path

Der Coastal Path von Doolin Richtung Cliffs of Moher führt unmittelbar nah an den Klippen entlang. Gerade bei rauem, windigen Wetter – wie so oft in Irland – ist das ein Abenteuer. Außerdem hat man dann den Weg fast für sich alleine, im Gegensatz zu den überfüllten Cliffs of Moher. Auf teilweise schmalen Trampelpfaden läuft man auf diesem Abschnitt den Cliffs entgegen und hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf das offene Meer. An klaren Tagen kann man die Größte der Aran Islands (Inis Moir) ganz klar erkennen. Mein Tipp bei Regen: einfach dick einpacken und alles auf sich zukommen lassen. Es ist ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

The Cliffs of Moher are a popular destination for a wide range of tourists, regardless of weather conditions (often adverse: rain and wind), but if the weather is nice and sunny they offer dramatic and spectacular scenery. The cliffs have been featured in many films, including Harry Potter, The Princess Bride, Leap Year and many others. The Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk connects the lively villages of Liscannor and Doolin, passing through the Cliffs of Moher Experience. A 20 Km linear route

The trail from Doolin to the famous Cliffs of Moher is well worth exploring and walking, much more so than the trail south of the Cliffs of Moher from the Visitor Center to Moher Tower at Hag's Head. From Doolin to the famous Cliffs of Moher the trail is less spectacular in terms of views of the Cliffs of Moher but, much more authentic and less frequented by the mass of tourists. Highly recommended for lovers of the Irish landscape.

At the northern end of the Cliffs of Moher, 'Lucas' View' offers and absolutely superb vista of the dramatic coastline.

O'Brien's Tower

Der Tower war früher ein Leuchtturm für die Schifffahrt, auf Wanderwege kann der Leuchtturm erreicht werden. großartige Blicke werden geboten.

Deep blue Pool and Cliffs

Wer körperlich fit ist, der macht sich von Doolin zu Fuß auf den Weg über den Burren Way direkt entlang der Klippen. Die kurze Wanderung ist viel Erlebnisreicher als ein Besuch des eigentlichen Hotspots🎒🍀🌊

Cliff Walk from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher

Einen Teil kann man auch etwas weiter vom Rand den Weg gehen, teilweise über die Weide. Von Doolin zum Visitorcenter sind es ca. 8 km, zurück mit dem Paddybus (6 Euro pP)
